A new contender has emerged in the race for the governorship of Edo State. Major General Charles Airhiavbere (retd.), a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, officially announced his candidacy on Monday. He made the declaration during a gathering with the members of Oredo Ward 1 at his residence in Benin City, ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial elections in the state.
Airhiavbere’s entry into the governorship race adds further dynamism to the unfolding political landscape in Edo State.
