DUFUHS Sanctions 14 Students for Exam Misconduct, Stealing Other offenses

David Umahi Federal University of Health Science, Uburu, in Ebonyi State (DUFUHS) has sanctioned 14 students for exam misconduct, stealing among other offenses on campus during the 2024 /2025 academic year.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Jesse Uneke made this known during the institution’s 4th matriculation ceremony where he admonished students to abide by all the rules and regulations of the institution.

According to the Vice Chancellor, “This University maintains very strict discipline, the University rules and regulations are unforgiving when they are violated.

“Between the last matriculation and the present, the Senate of the University approved disciplinary actions on a total of 14 students depending on the magnitude of their offences which include: 2 students were expelled due to examination misconduct,3 students received one year suspension for stealing,5 students received one semester suspension for stealing and 3 others were withdrawn as a result of poor academic performance.

“The core values of the University is to become a foremost international University reputable for learning, innovation, research and collaboration where the highest form of quality manpower development for the health and other related sectors will be achieved. Our overall goal is not only to achieve the reversal on medical tourism but also the reversal of my educational tourism.

The Vice Chancellor announced having achieved “maintained the highest form of academic standard, assemblage of some of the best academic staff Nigeria has( majority of our academic staff have PhD and most of the remaining are undergoing their PhD training), digitalization of our academic processes,our first year examinations and all university wide course are computer based tests,all our financial transactions are online and digital, we are exposing our students to research very early and granted them access to international databases ,our goal is for the students to have at least 300 electronic textbooks in their disciplines before graduating, development of mechanisms that will enable lecturers not to be absent from their classes and stability of our academic programmes without disruption.”

The University in it’s 4th matriculation ceremony received 990 students 644 females and 346 males for 2025/2026 academic year.
