DSS Reportedly Locks Out EFCC From Lagos Headquarters

A 20-year silent dispute between the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over ownership of the EFCC’s Lagos headquarters at No. 15A, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, burst into the open Tuesday morning.

Armed DSS operatives locked out EFCC operatives from the premises, preventing them from accessing their offices.

Reports gathered that two armoured vehicles on the property, said to have been deployed by the DSS officials.

The premises, originally exclusively used by the DSS, has been shared by both agencies since the EFCC’s establishment by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003.

It was gathered that there have been unsuccessful talks between both agencies over resolving the ownership dispute.
