A Benin High Court, on Wednesday, ordered the remand of one Gabriel Caleb, 26, in a correctional facility over alleged murder.
The suspect and others at large allegedly conspired to commit the crime on or about January 2 in Ihievbe Community.
The police prosecutor, I.I Ekibade said the suspect and others, armed with guns and other dangerous weapons, shot and killed one Sule Yakubu, aged 36.
The prosecutor told the court that after killing Yakubu, the suspects allegedly buried him in a shallow grave.
He said that the offences contravened sections 247(1) and 242 of the Criminal Law of Edo State Law, 2022.
However, the suspect did not take plea.
Justice Williams Azeigbemhin remanded the suspect in a correctional custody, pending the legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Thereafter, he adjourned the case to March 28 for mention.
