THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested popular Lagos socialite, Emeka Okonkwo Daniel, widely known as e-money, for allegedly violating currency regulations.
Reports said that he was apprehended on Monday night at his residence in the Omole area of Lagos for spraying U.S. dollars at a public event, an act considered a breach of the Foreign Exchange Act and an abuse of the dollar
Sources within the EFCC were quoted in sundry media reports to have said that preliminary investigations were ongoing and that he would be arraigned upon conclusion of investigations.
E-Money is being flown to Abuja for further questioning.
The EFCC had yet to release an official statement on the arrest as of press time.
