The Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Hon. Aliyu Yakubu Barde, is dead.
Family members confirmed that he died on Tuesday in Lafia in a brief illness.
His burial has been scheduled to take place in his hometown, Wamba, following Islamic rites.
The State Secretary of the APC, Chief Otaru Douglas, expressed deep sadness over the loss.
He said the death of the party leader was a huge setback for both the APC and the entire state.
Before becoming the Deputy Chairman of the APC in Nasarawa, Barde had served as the Interim Management Committee Chairman of Wamba Local Government Area during the time of former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
