Ajao Adewale has assumed duty as the 39th Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa Police Command.
Adewale, on Wednesday took over from Iyamah Edebor, who was recently promoted to the rank of an Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).
This is contained in a statement issued by the spokesperson for the command, SP Musa Muhammad, in Yenagoa.
He said that Adewale, until current posting, served as the Commissioner of Police, Administration, Force CID Annex, Gombe State.
“He also served as the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Abuja.
“He is a seasoned and highly experienced police officer with proven expertise in police operations, administration, and criminal investigation.
“Over the course of his distinguished career, he has served in various commands, formations, and units of the Nigeria Police Force in different capacities,” Muhammad said.
The command’s spokesperson urged the people of the state to accord the new commissioner of police the necessary support to deliver on his task of maintaining peace, law and order.
