The Anglican Church has pitched its tenth behind Sovereign national Conference, saying it is an answer to the nation’s myriad socio-political and economic upheavals.
The church said if the federal Government is free to convoke another conference if it is not comfortable with the recommendation made by the National Conference under former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The Church also said true federalism is ideal for the country ‘growth and states should be allowed to develop at their own pace.
The Diocesan Bishop of Badagry, Most Rev (Dr) Babatunde Adeyemi, said this yesterday in Cathedral of St Thomas Badagry, ahead of the church’s four-day synod starting which begins tomorrow.
He urged Nigerians to continue to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari, his vice the Prof Yemi Osinbajo as their administration clocks two.

Adeyemi is optimistic that state autonomy would enable them look inward and be creative to improve on their IGR.
Adeyemi said: “States should look inward and generate income that will be sufficient for them and not solely rely on the federal government for revenue. It is sad that only Lagos State and the Niger Delta have the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to govern themselves”.
He said the Synod is the first session of its fifth synod, with the theme: ‘You Are Christ, and taken from 1st Corinthians 3:23. .
Adeyemi said Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and his wife Bolanle will be guests of honour.
The cleric said forthcoming synod would review the previous one, while deliberating on issues affecting the diocese.
