Rt Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Yagba Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general election, following the successful upload of his nomination details to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) candidate nomination portal.
The development officially confirms Abejide’s status as the APC flag bearer for the House of Representatives election, with his name, personal particulars and other statutory nomination documents duly submitted in accordance with INEC’s electoral guidelines.
The electoral commission commenced the upload of candidates’ information on June 26, 2026, after opening its nomination portal and issuing secure access codes to designated national officers of political parties for the submission of candidates’ credentials and accompanying documents.
Checks indicate that Abejide’s profile has been successfully captured on the INEC portal, completing a critical stage in the nomination process and placing him among the APC candidates processed for the 2027 general election.
The successful upload comes as political parties intensify preparations for the next electoral cycle, with INEC continuing the processing and verification of candidates nominated for various elective offices across the country.
