THE Acting Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Prof. Sunnie Adagbonyin is again in the eyes of the storm as he is said to have been surmoned by the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Force Headquarters, Abuja over alleged illegal possession of firearms by his personal aide.

The development followed the arrest of the personal aide of the Acting Vice Chancellor, Mr. Monday Otumu, by the police for alleged gun running, impersonation and cultism.
Reliable sources revealed to Trojan News Media that guns including a pistol and police uniforms were recovered from him.
The Police Force Headquarters has spread its drag nets to apprehend the accomplices of the VC’s personal assistant who source said was serving the Acting Vice Chancellor as driver in special occasions and as body guide.
Effort to procure anti-cult membership identity card for the embattled VC’s PA to cover him up was resisted by the anti-cult body in Ekpoma.
This is the second time the personal staff of the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University would be caught in the web of criminal activities, the first having been sacked for transcript and certificate racketeering.
Sources hinted yesterday that the Acting Vice Chancellor may have been arrested in connection with the development.
“Prof Adagbonyin should be investigated, interdicted and be sacked in accordance with the University regulation and extant laws over his multiple violations of the rules governaning the institution”, a Prof in the Faculty of law told our Correspondent.
