THE Police on Monday arraigned one Samson Ernest, Wisdom Chibueze, John Bala and Babangida Suleiman before a Chief Magistrates’ Court, Wuse, Abuja, for alleged theft.
The police charged the defendants with joint act and theft by servant.
The prosecuting counsel, Faith Sunday said that the complainant, Victor Oyebola reported the matter at the Utako Police Station on July 18.
Sunday alleged that the defendants who were labourers of Apeal site, Jabi, Abuja stole Aero electricity wiring nuts and other site items including cable wires.
The offence, he said that contravened the provisions of sections 79 and 289 of the Penal Code.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Hafsat Amiru granted the defendants N500,000 bail each with one surety in like sum who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
Amiru ordered that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means of livelihood and adjourned the matter until Aug.20 for hearing.
