A 33-year-old man, Sunday Okoli, on Friday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly conducting himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by threatening another person’s life.
The defendant who pleaded not guilty is facing a two-count charge bordering on threat to life and assault.
The Prosecutor, ASP. Christian Okonofua, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Nov. 12 at about 10 am along Oke-Oko, Isawo, Agric area of Ikorodu, Lagos.
The prosecutor said that the defendant assaulted one Mrs Victoria Okafor, by holding her on the neck and gave her several fist blows all over her body which caused her bodily harm.
The prosecutor added that the defendant also caused breach of peace by shouting on top of his voice and threatening to kill anytime he sees her.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravene section 168(d) and 173 of the criminal laws of Lagos State 2015.
The Magistrate Mrs A.O. Onalaja admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in line sum and adjourned the case till Dec. 19 for mention.
