Seye Oladejo, on Saturday officially declared his intention to contest for the Mushin Constituency II seat in the House of Representatives in 2027.

Addressing party faithful, supporters and community leaders during the declaration in Lagos , the APC chieftain described his aspiration as a continuation of people-oriented leadership rooted in service, visibility and measurable impact.

The former local government chairman, Special Adviser to the Governor and Commissioner recalled his years of public service and political experience in Mushin and Lagos State.

“I am the same man you made your secretary and later chairman of Mushin Local Government.

“I later became Special Adviser on Commerce and Industry to the Governor and Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations.

“I am here to canvass for your support and seek your understanding to back me up at the House of Representatives for Mushin Constituency II,” Oladejo said.

According to him, the House of Representatives consists of 360 members and every constituency deserves quality representation.

“I am one of the best Mushin has produced,” he added.

Oladejo said leadership must be assessed through performance, accessibility and commitment to the welfare of the people.

“Leadership is not about noise or titles; it is about visible service, responsibility and results that touch lives. Mushin deserves a strong voice at the National Assembly.

Oladejo said the confidence reposed in him by party members and residents would continue to inspire his commitment to transparent, inclusive and development-driven representation.

Unveiling “The Pact,” which he described as a solemn social contract between himself and the people of Mushin Constituency II, Oladejo said  impactful legislation was the top priority of his agenda, promising to champion laws that directly improve residents’ welfare and economic opportunities.

According to him, among the proposed bills are the Lagos Special Status and Infrastructure Support Bill, Local Government Autonomy and Recognition Bill and National Youth Skills and Employment Development Bill.

“I see today as a day to sign a social contract between myself and the people of Mushin Constituency II.

“It is a commitment to impactful leadership and delivering results through legislation.

“Lagos State should be accorded a special status as Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre, and our 37 LCDAs should be officially recognised,” he added.

According to him, the proposed youth development bill will empower artisans and young people through vocational, technical and digital skills acquisition programmes.

Oladejo also pledged to sponsor bills on public education support, mental healthcare, MSME development, sports and creative industry growth, social welfare and accessible healthcare.

On education, he promised free JAMB and GCE forms for indigent students alongside scholarships for outstanding students in public tertiary institutions.

The APC chieftain also pledged collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund to facilitate re-skilling programmes and equipment support for artisans and tradesmen.

Oladejo further promised free medical outreach programmes, advocacy for mental health awareness and establishment of a Senior Citizens Wellness Centre within the constituency.

He also pledged regular sporting competitions, talent discovery initiatives and mentorship programmes for youths in sports, music, acting and entertainment.

Earlier, Director-General of the Hon. Seye Oladejo Campaign Organisation, Kayode Sobande, urged residents to support the aspirant.

“When he gets to the House of Representatives, he will do a lot for the people of Mushin Federal Constituency. Let us support and vote for him,” Sobande said.
