
Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and the National Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, on Friday night paid a courtesy visit to former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Newsextra24 reports that the visit took place at Kwankwaso’s residence in Maitama, Abuja. It was disclosed in a statement issued by Kwankwaso’s media aide, Hon. Saifullahi Hassan.
According to the statement, the political leaders discussed developments in the country. Details of the meeting were, however, not made public.
Those who received the visitors alongside Kwankwaso included former Kano State Deputy Governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna; Senator representing Kano Central, Rufa’i Sani Hanga; prominent NNPP chieftain, Buba Galadima; and the member representing Kura, Madobi and Garun Malam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Yusuf Datti Kura.
Several other key figures within the Kwankwasiyya movement were also present at the meeting.
NDC Holds Convention Saturday
The visit came ahead of the first national convention of the NDC scheduled to hold in Abuja on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
The party announced the convention in a statement released on Friday by its National Chairman, Moses Cleopas, on its 𝕏 page.
According to the statement, delegates from across the country have been invited to attend the gathering, which is expected to bring together party members and stakeholders.
